Innovation at CIEDS

The process leading from inventions to market involves transforming ideas into economic assets — protected under intellectual property rights —, their promotion, and then the development of proofs of concept at various levels of maturity. The path that leads to the granting of rights to an operator – the transfer of the technology – is a long, indeed very long, road strewn with obstacles.

Because CIEDS addresses a major and unifying societal challenge, namely the defence and security of the nation, and because the end users for us are the personnel of the armed forces and security services, CIEDS has attached great importance, since its creation, to the challenge of technology transfer.

For this reason, CIEDS has chosen to establish itself within the X Novation Center, in the flagship innovation building at the heart of the IP Paris campus, in direct proximity to the other IP Paris interdisciplinary centres and to numerous deep-tech start-ups at various stages of maturity, whether accelerated or hosted.
